Hocelayne Paulino Fernandes

Post-Doctoral Researcher

Hocelayne has completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry at Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil with emphasis in Natural Products Chemistry. Her previous research focused on investigating the interaction between plant-pathogens by using a multi-platform-based metabolomics approach to identify biomarkers with the potential to become biopesticides.

Hocelayne has been working in a metabolomics approach in which she developed various methods using different high-performance analytical techniques, such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS), Headspace- Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (HS-GC-MS), and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). Furthermore, she is also experienced in isolation, identification, and elucidation of natural products/small molecules.
